English 201: Notes/Reminders from Class on Tuesday, November 24

What’s Due Post Break:

When you come back from your Thanksgiving holiday, you’ll need to have your final draft of paper IV ready to submit in class as well as posted to Turnitin.com.  Further, you’ll need to bring all your work from Unit IV to class so I can collect a homework grade.

We’re Starting the Last Unit:

We’re starting the last (yay!) and final unit on Tuesday, December 1, so you might want to take a look at the new paper assignment on the documents and handouts page.  You might have noticed that the assignments on your semester schedule are all “TBA.”  Check the documents and handouts page: I’ve posted the schedule.  Please do note that (1) the final draft is due in class on Thursday, December 10 and (2) you’ll need a few extra supplies (scissors, tape, and highlighters) throughout the unit.

Paper #3 and Grades:

If you were in class today (Nov. 24), you received your third papers back.  If not, stop by anytime during office hours to get your paper.

By Wednesday late afternoon/early evening, your grades will be updated in Desire to Learn.  Check your grades, and do let me know if anything looks amiss.

The reading and assignment schedule has us turning in papers over Thanksgiving Break.  This, obviously, isn’t the case.  Click “read more” for the details about how the end of Unit IV breaks down.

English 201: Grades Are Updated in Desire to Learn

If  you’re concerned about your grades for the semester, check Desire to Learn.  You should have a grade for paper 1 & 2, homework 1 & 2, and quizzes 1 – 3.  If anything looks amiss, get in touch ASAP so I can get the error corrected.

You should have received graded versions of these papers, homework assignments, and quizzes; if you’re missing any of them, stop by during office hours to pick them up.

Remember, all of those writing assignments that I assign in class and that are on your reading an assignment schedule could become homework grades at the end of each unit; further, you’ll be using these assignments to develop your papers.  Head over to the Documents and Handouts page to be sure that you have all of these materials.

All Classes: Many Apologies, Folks, But I Can’t Be in the Office Today

Car troubles will keep me from the office today. 

Barring anymore surprises, I will be in Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 1:00.  I’ll try to keep Meebo open, and I will be checking my email throughout the afternoon.

M/W/F Class: Paper #4

I’m working on paper #4…  8:00 and 9:00 sections, you’ll get your fourth papers back on Friday, and 3:00 section, you’ll get yours back over the weekend (by Monday).

If you have submitted an essay, though, and haven’t recieved a graded copy, please email me ASAP.

Tue./Thurs. Section: All Papers Are Returned

Right after I click “post,” I’m going email all of you your fourth projects.  Please email me ASAP if you’ve turned in your work, but you’re missing graded copies of your papers.

Tues./Thurs. Section: For Our Last Day of Class

Be sure that you bring a fresh draft of your final project to class.
